A Wrap up of our 17th Annual Golf Outing

  

The Shaun Hicks Men’s Club held its 17thAnnual Golf Outing on Friday June 28, 2019 at Beaver Brook Country Club in Annandale, New Jersey. There were 130 participants who braved the heat of the day. At the conclusion of Golf the participants head over to the Beaver Brook’s Banquet room were there was plenty of refreshments available to quench their thirsts. 

After a brief introduction of the Outing Committee members, The group was then introduced to Mike Sulsona our appointed Veterans Consultant who introduced our Wounded Warrior, Judith Joachim-Swanson,  who served 8 years in the United States Army as a Computer Analyst and who has been diagnosed with PTSD, depression and anxiety which is service connected. The Club presented MS. Swanson with a $5,000.00 check

Following Ms. Swanson, a $2,500.00 Check was awarded to Meals on Wheels of Staten Island for their work with the seniors and infirmed on Staten Island.

Awards were also given out to the Club’s 2018 Low Gross winner, Rocco Rago and to the Club’s Low Net winner, Lenny Pilaro. Also monetary prizes were given out to four players who were closest to the pin on the courses four par 3’s and 2 cash prizes were given out to two participants for closest to the line.

We held our Chinese auction were there were 27 prizes participants could bid on. The average price for each prize was in excess of $250.00. At their completion we held a drawing for a 3-day 2-night trip to Las Vegas, which was donated by Casale Jewelers on Staten Island. The winner of the trip was Cory Taglianetti. The next prize was the 50/50. A total of $2,000.00 was collected and the winner was Joe Albano. Finally, our Grand Prize was picked. This was won by Lenny Pilaro who received a $1,000.00 and since he sold the winning ticket will have his annual dues waved next year. At the conclusion of the Grand Prize 2 Door Prizes were drawn. Each valued at $250.00 each. The winner of the door prizes had to be present to win the money.
